Default Can Not Kill Kraken - Factions Mission

I am playing with a friend and we can not get Zhu Kanuku below half way on his health. The spear is fully charged and it only does 1/4 damage on him. If we regen the spear, he has regened his health. The choice of Henchmen are poor for this mission. We have tried this over 10 times now, both of us have tried doing the spear. Any thoughts or help you can offer will be appreciated

Take real people makes this mission easy! If you dont want to do that, take an interupt (spelling lol) and hit it, when its does its main skill

That mission is very easily henched, for me it was the fastest mission of all (after I figured out how to do it that is).

Beating it is actually pretty simple and you don't have to use the spear at all (obviously it helps since it does quite a bit of damage).

The main thing is to interupt the Jade Fury spell he casts, it's quite easily done since it has a looong casting time.

Depending on what classes you are I would suggest that one of you will just stand around waiting for him to start to cast the spell and then interrupt it and having everyone else attack - it works like a charm.

If you're a mesmer you can cap an elite interrupt spell from the other groups you fight to get the spear it's called "Power Leech" and is quite handy - you can cap it from a mob in the last group you fight (forget the name).

Try bringing a interupt skill that causes it to be dazed, that will usually interupt all spells he casts until the condition wares off. And the spear isnt the only way to damage him, use normal attacks/spells/etc.

Degen mesmers work wonders against him, the only problem I have is that diversion doesn't affect Jade Fury. With a human party the first part of the mission tends to be much tougher (atleast it seems like it to me..)

The sin hench will interrupt also but you should have interrupt and daze (if possible) of your own. I henched this with my sin. I switched my secondary to ranger and capped broadhead arrow so I could just stand back and keep him dazed while henchies chewed him up.

Talking Thank you All

Thank you All; we completed the mission. We were not familiar with interrup spells, only going in full force with offensive spells rather than defensive spells. We are on to new areas to explore !! This forum was very useful.

Quite right. I breeze through the first part playing with henchies, but get our collective hineys kicked when playing with humans. Word to the wise: Bring a couple M/M's... very useful.

don't even need a MM. There is never any real danger of dying in that mission. all you need is an interupt or knockdown.

Frozen soil is also fun.

I did this mission in 13mins with Henchies. Already had masters but just wanted to see how fast I could do it...

Very easy mission, and the Kraken was a laughable boss to beat.

I'm a Rt/Me, and was awfully easy. Dissonance ensured he didnt cast one spell, and then me and henchies attacking with me using Empathy and Painful Bond. Oh, and used the spear as well. Dead in less than a minute maybe?

The Kraken's a joke. My whole team died once and it was just me and the monk VS kraken at 1/4 hp and we killed him. Rangers ftw!

If you can switch to secondary ranger and cap Broad Head Arrow, that pretty much shuts down the Kraken. You can also cap Barrage at the same time.

I finished this one as well with the Assassin using Disrupting Stab. Some kind of interrupt skill is a must.

Choking Gas Ranger works quite well too. Well, it did for me.

Here's how you hench it.

Take both Assassin Henchmen. They'll take turn using Temple Strike. You can use it to take out Argo too.

Assassins do not have temple strike, but what the sin henchies DO have is beguiling haze... which works wonders and absolutely do take both, makes short work not only of the bosss, but the annoying escape equipped naga archers, lol
